About the talk: This interactive program will provide a review of the history and future of the Social Security program. Attendees will leave the meeting with a comprehensive understanding of the types of benefits available and how clients can qualify for them. Speaker bio: Jody Harris recently completed a 34 year career with the Social Security Administration. He has done it all from processing payments for benefits, managing the national 800 number and managing a local office. Jody completed his career as the public face of Social Security in Alabama. He was the Public Affairs Specialist responsible for outreach and education throughout Alabama.
Jody worked closely with the financial planners to educate them and their clients on what to expect from Social Security and how to obtain benefits. He has found that knowledge is the key to good decisions.
Jody worked on the staff of the Social Security Commissioner and was also “loaned” to United States Senator Richard Shelby. He has received numerous national awards for his performance.
