Introduction to LTC Insurance

This presentation is intended to be an introduction to Long Term Care Insurance. Attendees will learn the importance of the need to plan for longevity and how long term care insurance can bring value in the planning process. In the discussion, attendees will learn the common policy structure of all LTC insurance policies, how one qualifies for claim, the general types of plans available in today’s market, the most common methods of funding, and how to understand the values provided on illustrations. The meeting will conclude with an overview of the underwriting process and best practices to appropriately manage client expectations.

About the speaker: Brant Steck, CFP®

Since joining BUI in 2008, Brant has been a key contributor to the firm’s success, overseeing its marketing strategy and building strong relationships with its most valued partners. As Vice President, he leads branding efforts, content creation, and the development of planning strategies while managing the marketing team. In addition, he works directly with many of the company’s top advisor relationships and their affluent or business owner clients. His planning focus is to coordinate insurance recommendations with clients’ financial plans and estate plans to ensure recommendations are always in the client’s best interest—a reflection of the firm’s core values.

 

In 2012, Brant earned the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation, further solidifying his ability to provide strategic guidance to clients and advisors. His insights into the life insurance and financial planning industries have been featured in publications including U.S. News & World Report, The Street, and Your Complete Guide to a Successful and Secure Retirement.

A proud graduate of Truman State University (2004), Brant has worked in the insurance industry his entire career. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Lindsay, and their two children, Whitley (11) and Griffin (8). Together, they are avid Ohio State football fans, supporters of St. Louis City soccer, and regularly spend time at the Lake of the Ozarks.
